Newsletter changes

Please watch your spam folders for newsletters via MailChimp from news @ portlandwritersmill . org. This is a new email address (instead of admin) and you may need to “whitelist” it.

If you contacted admin @ portlandwritersmill . org stating your name and your preferred email address, you should still be on the list to receive these emails. If you didn’t, you will not receive any more emails from us until you either contact admin or sign up again using the signup tab on the website.

What emails do we send?

After the first Sunday of the month, you should receive an email inviting you to read, comment on, and vote on the new ezine, and giving you the new password. If you can’t find that email, find the “contests/ezine” entry in the menu (menu bar is above on a PC, hidden under the three straight lines on a phone), choose the correct month, and click on “month 2024 entries & voting page” to read your ezine. If you don’t have the password (which will have been sent in earlier emails too), please contact admin.

The following week you should receive an email reminding you to read, comment, and vote, and giving you useful information about the upcoming (third Sunday) meeting, including zoom links and downloads. If you don’t receive that email, remember our meetings are ALWAYS THE THIRD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH. You can reuse the link from the previous month, or contact admin (but do that BEFORE the day of the meeting), or contact the library.

The next week, after the third Sunday of the month, you should receive an email containing the minutes, contest results, and upcoming contest information. If you don’t receive that email, look on the website. Everything will be available for you to read on the front page at portlandwritersmill.org

The week after this, you should receive an email reminding you to submit your entries to the contest/ezine. This email will give you the new password for the following month. If you don’t receive that email, please remember, submissions are ALWAYS DUE by the end of the FIRST SUNDAY IN THE MONTH. You will find info about the current and upcoming contests under contests on the menu bar of the website. The password will be repeated in later emails.

Please try not to lose passwords.

Please don’t share passwords or zoom links. This is for your security as well as ours.

Please remember to check your spam folders. Sometimes it’s our fault the emails don’t arrive. Sometimes it’s your email system calling them spam. We can’t fix your email system but we’re trying to fix ours (which is why we have removed the addresses of those who didn’t reply).

Please don’t ignore the request to send admin your name and email address.

Please be patient as we try to resolve our newsletter problems.
