Writers’ Mill Minutes September 16th 2018

Around 12 of us braved the unexpected storm to hear a fantastic talk from Matt Haynes about books, writing, and especially narration. As we arrived, the sun came out, and we welcomed several new members who’d found us via Meetup. Someone suggested that maybe more time will be spent on indoor pursuits like writing as the weather turns cooler. Beth Jusino – Pitch Your Book

Beth Jusino began her presentation with setting parameters for questions and stated that she will be happy to discuss individual projects in person following the two-hour session. With a slide presentation to highlight her talk, Beth presented “Pitch Your Book so That Publishers Pay Attention.” She showed us how to master the synopsis, the hook, and the verbal pitch to publishers and agents.

Writers’ Mill Minutes May 20th 2018

Twenty members attended May’s Writers’ Mill meeting and enjoyed an amusing, intriguing and very informative talk from John Hoover, the best-selling author of How to Work for an Idiot and other fascinating titles. John described a little of his past, working for Disney, managing audiobooks for McGraw Hill, helping clients at Boeing, Delta, Hilton and many more… then went on to describe how he entered the world of writing and coaching instead of publishing.
